Sunrise Photography Workshops

For millennia sunrises have been an event of wonder and splendour. A beautiful sunrise can captivate and has inspired many a great writer and artist. No wonder sunrises are sometimes referred to as “The Grand Show”!

I have two “Sunrise Photography Workshops” scheduled for Petty Harbour in 2012. Saturday March 31st and Saturday September 15th, beginning at 6:15 am. (Sunrise is at 6:40 on March 31 and 6:38 on September 15. The dates were chosen keeping the position of the sun relative to the landscape in mind). We can be there, equipment setup waiting for the show to begin. It’s an early morning rise but well worth the chance of getting the shot of a lifetime.

During the workshop we will go over the techniques for taking great sunrise or sunset photos, creative use of iso, aperture and shutter speed and graduated neutral density filters. If you don’t have any filters don’t worry you don’t need them but they can help control the exposure.

Please feel free to post any questions about technique or equipment you may have here and I will do what I can to answer them. Each workshop is only $50 per participant and should last about two hours. Limited spaces are available so register soon!

The dates are Saturday March 31st and Saturday September 15th. It is amazing to watch a sunrise, to witness the splendour of which we are a part, certainly a feast for the senses. Looking forward to beginning a new day with you!

  1. Wow Brian... impressive and amazing work as always! Sounds like this workshop will be a blast, well, except for the early rise. Looking forward to it!

  2. Hey Dion thanks. Yeah the early rise is a bummer and that'a part of the reason I didn't schedule this in late June or early July when you would have to get up around 4 am. Thanks for stoppping by!
