I just love twilight portraiture. The "blue hour" provides a spectacular setting and the fading ambient light offers unique photo opportunities. And at that time of the day you never know what you might find for a backdrop. A ship in the harbour was casting this wonderful light and I decided to take advantage of it. Thanks to Maersk Shipping for providing the great backdrop for the first two photos. :-)
Love to create bokeh from out of focus light as I did with the ship here.
And thank you to the City of St John's Newfoundland and Labrador for providing the backdrop for the next two images.
As twilight fades and darkness sets in the duration of the shutter openings gets longer. And it's a challenge doing portraiture at shutter speeds as long as 1/13 of a second. Are there any other photographers out there doing portraiture at such unconventional, long shutter speeds? If so I would love to see their work.
Thank You for stopping by!
